Lainie's First Easter Egg Hunt

Here are pictures of Lainie looking for Easter Eggs. The Easter Bunny decided to hide them in the bonus room since Lainie was sick and it was too cold for her to be outside.

Pictures of everyone after the hunt was over!
Sharing an M&M with Uncle Michael

Do we look sleep deprived or what?

Lainie with Uncle Michael, Aunt Erin and Uncle Mick

Happy Easter 2008!

Well, this Easter wasn't exactly what we expected. Unfortunately, Lainie came down with Roseola and was feeling terrible from Thursday until Monday. She ran a high fever and was extremely crabby the entire time. Her fever actually got as high as 104.9, so we were giving her Motrin and Tylenol around the clock. Justin, Lainie and I really got very little sleep as her fevers seemed to spike at night. She was absolutely pitiful!
Uncle Michael was very sweet to drive up to see us. I felt so badly that we didn't get to do anything fun, but he was a trooper and said he enjoyed relaxing. Thanks, Uncle Michael, for being so sweet and understanding. We hope your next visit is a little more exciting than this one!
Uncle Mick and Aunt Erin came over on Easter to have lunch with us. We did do an Easter Egg Hunt with Lainie and I think that was the highlight of the day. Lainie completely understood how to look for eggs! She was so cute to watch. She grabbed her basket and took off looking for those eggs! She found them all and we were so proud of her.
Here are a few pics of her Easter weekend....

Here is a picture of all of Lainie's Easter goodies! Thank you to Gramma, Grampi, Aunt Kimie, Uncle Mick and Aunt Erin and Uncle Bennie for all of my gifts. WOW!! Lainie truly is loved by everyone.

Checking out all of her things...notice we put her Easter dress on just to take some pictures in it. I guess she will have to wear it to church next Sunday!

This picture pretty much sums up Lainie's Easter....a hershey kiss in one hand and her tylenol in the other!

Checking out her new bubble machine from the Easter Bunny.

Thanks, Uncle Bennie, for my gifts! I love them!

Emmie's Room

When I found out Lainie was a little girl, I already had an image in my head of what her nursery would look like. I knew what crib I would be using, what bedding I wanted, and I knew I wanted a mural painted on her wall. It really was just a matter of putting it all together. With Emmie, I had NO idea! Justin and I kept going back and forth on whether we wanted to buy her a crib and keep Lainie in her crib, or if we wanted to just move Lainie to a "big girl bed" and put Emmie in Lainie's crib. Decisions, decisions!

We finally came to the conclusion that leaving Lainie in her crib for as long as possible might save us some headaches in the long run. We found a convertible crib for Emmie that we liked, along with a dresser and chest of drawers. This would be perfect because Emmie would now have a bedroom set that she could grow into and Lainie would have her own as well. Decision made! This is what we decided on for baby Emmie.

Once I had that decision made, I was free to start looking for bedding. I thought I wanted to do pink and green, so that narrowed my choices down. I really could not find anything in stores. While my mom was in town, we looked at fabric stores, baby stores, more fabric stores, more baby stores and on and on!! We could not find anything, until I found the website www.polkatotdesigns.com. They custom make your bedding for you and have tons of fabrics to choose from! I found something that I really loved, so we decided to go for it. Here is what Emmie's bedding will look like.

The only difference will be the solid pink in the picture will actually be a pale pink minky dot fabric on Emmie's bedding. I thought I would try and soften the look a little bit.

So, there you have it.....our decisions on Emmie's nursery so far. The bedding won't be here for 6 weeks and the crib won't be here until June (ugh), but at least we are making progress. We are going to have to start moving furniture around so we can begin the painting process and all! I want to get that part done as soon as possible so we don't have to worry about it! I will be sure to post pics of the finished product this summer!

The Petting Zoo

Lainie had a special treat waiting for her when she arrived at school yesterday! They had a petting zoo come so all of the kids could see and pet the animals. Lainie jumped right in there and loved seeing all the different animals that were there. Her teacher, Mrs. Sylvia, took her around while Mommy took pictures. Lainie loved the rabbit, ducks and the donkey, but was willing to touch just about any of the animals! She LOVES animals, much to Riley's dismay! :)

After the petting zoo, Lainie had her first Easter Egg Hunt at school. Unfortunately, Mommy couldn't stay for that as it was just for the teachers and kids. I wasn't sure how Lainie would do, but she obviously picked up on things rather quickly as she came home with a basket full of eggs. I can't wait to watch her on Easter!

Getting ready to head to school....

So Mommy, do you think they are ready for THIS?!!

Loving all the animals.....

Getting ready to head back to their classroom. I love how they all sit in the wagon and go for rides. On pretty days, the teachers pack them in these wagons and take them on a walk through downtown Franklin. I am sure they get lots of looks as these kiddos are sooooo cute!!

Lainie's friend, Kade, came over last night to play. I thought this was such a cute picture of Kade "reading" to Lainie. They play so well together and really are so sweet to each other. Kade decided to fix his hair like his Daddy does, so he grabbed the Balmex, squeezed a dime-sized amount in his hand, and applied it to his hair. Doesn't it look great?! :)

Snow Day!

Here are some pictures of Lainie playing in the snow this morning. We had about 2 inches. I definitely think Lainie enjoyed it, but we were all ready to get back inside because it was SO cold!

Of course, Riley enjoyed the snow as well!!

It's A.......

Well, we went for the ultrasound today and got a great report. Dr. Crowe said everything looked perfect! It always is so good to hear that news! Praise God for another healthy baby!

We are thrilled to announce that Lainie is going to have a......

BABY SISTER!!! She was so sweet during the ultrasound and really looks alot like Lainie looked during hers. We got several really cute pictures of her to keep along with a video. I love the picture above of her foot....absolutely precious! What is it about a baby's feet that is so sweet?

Thanks so much for your prayers! Please continue to pray for a healthy pregnancy. We are so excited to meet this little one in July. What a special addition to our family she will be. We still haven't confirmed a name...our two options right now are either Lynleigh Emerson or Emerson Caroline. Regardless, we plan to call her Emmie. :)

Lainie had an exciting week this week! We all went to Maddie Grace's birthday party at Chuck E Cheese's. Lainie loved the pizza and cake, but was unsure about all of the rides and games they had. She did finally ride in the car that takes her picture with Chuck E, but that was about all we could get her to do. I think it was a little overwhelming!

Aunt Erin, Uncle Mick, Mommy, Daddy and Lainie all went to the zoo and met the Shacklefords there. We had a really good time and the weather was really nice. Lainie loved seeing the animals and running around the zoo. She absolutely refused to sit in her stroller.....busy, busy!!

The baby's ultrasound is Tuesday morning! Please continue to pray for the health of this little one. We will let you know what we find out! Let us know if you think the baby is a boy or a girl! Daddy really thinks it is a boy this time, but Mommy is leaning towards girl. We will see!
