Family Fun

We were so excited that we had so much family at Emmie's birthday party! Grampi, Gramma, Aunt Kimie, Brooke and Scott were able to come visit from North Carolina to celebrate the big day. Uncle Michael, Aunt Kitty, Sarah and Uncle Bennie came up from Birmingham. Uncle Mick and Aunt Ooey came from Nashville. It really was so fun to have so many people come as many of our family members are scattered all over the U.S.

Gramma, Aumt Kimie, Brooke and Scott stayed for about a week and we had a blast. Lainie and Emmie loved having their cousins here to play with them. We went out to eat, played at Monkey's Treehouse, shopped a little and even took a short trip to Birmingham to see some friends. We had a great time and hated for them to leave! Hopefully, we can make a trip to NC to see everyone soon.

A full car load!

This may be the biggest rocking chair I have ever seen!

Up to no good!! I think she might be my rebellious one!

Sweet Brookie got bored as there wasn't much for her to do at Monkey's Treehouse, so Gramma treated her to a mani and pedi! Beautiful girl!

Emmie's 1st Birthday

Here are a few pictures that I took of Em and Lainie Bug on Emmie's first birthday. We ended up getting Gigi's cupcakes to celebrate with. I thought it would give Em a trial run before her big birthday bash that weekend! She dug right into that cupcake and loved it. Of course, LB loved her blue cupcake with sprinkles! I have discovered that her favorite color is definitely blue right now and Miss Priss loves her some sprinkles!

Summer Fun

The girls and I have spent several days up at our pool! Lainie loves to walk around in the water with her watering can, and Emmie enjoys crawling all over the place and playing with toys. Our pool has a zero level entry, so it allows me to sit in the water and soak up the sun while the girls crawl and walk around. We love it! Here are a few pics of some of our summer fun.

4th of July

Whew! It has been crazy busy around here and I have so many blog posts that are ready to go in my mind! I just need to find some time to sit down and work on them. I guess I need to back up to the fourth of July!

Uncle Mick and Aunt Ooey came over to help us celebrate the fourth. We went up to the pool to play and then came home to eat. Afterwards, Mick, Erin, Lainie and I headed downtown to see the fireworks. They were absolutely amazing....by far, the best I have ever seen. Unfortunately, it started POURING while we were watching them and we were at least six blocks away from our car. When I say we were drenched, it is a complete understatement. It really looked like we all jumped into a pool of water. We were soaked!! It was fun and definitely a holiday I will always remember!

Happy First Birthday, Emmie!!!!

One year ago today, God blessed me a second time with a beautiful baby girl! She was born with a head full of black hair and adorable chubby cheeks! I always wondered how I could love another baby as much as I loved Lainie, but that was not a problem. I fell in love with Emmie instantly.
One year later, she is a little cotton top with her Daddy's beautiful tan skin, chubby cheeks and is quite a roly poly. She has gone from a solemn, snuggly newborn to a sweet, sassy, spunky baby who can squeal louder than any other child I know. She is pure love, pure joy, and we love her more than words!
As you know, I create videos for my girls and add a song with pictures for each year of their life. Here is your video Emerson Caroline! You have truly been such a blessing to your Daddy and me this year. Happy 1st Birthday!

You Know You Have Been Potty Training When.....

You know you have been potty training when you overhear your two-year old say the following things not once, but several times over the past couple of weeks:

* "Oh Mommy, you did it! You put your yellow in the potty! I so proud of you!"
* "Daddy, did you just push your brown into the water?"
* "Mommy, do not tee tee in your panties, ok?"
* (from the potty) "Mommy, I just pooted...I just needed to poot!"
* (in a public restroom) "GREAT JOB MOMMY!!!! You DID it!"

Oh, there are so many more, but I will refrain for the sake of my marriage! HA!
