Lainie had a fun birthday weekend. We ended up having a "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" birthday party at Chuck E Cheese with several of her friends. She had a great time! Uncle Michael and Uncle Bennie came up from Birmingham to help her celebrate. On Saturday, we celebrated her actual birthday by grilling out and having cupcakes with Uncle Michael, Uncle Bennie, Aunt Erin and Uncle Mick. She had a great time with everyone and is enjoying playing with all of her new toys. We took so many pictures over the weekend, so I decided to create photo collages to post them.
Our sweet Lainie Bug turned 2 today! She is such a blessing to Justin and I. We love her more than words could describe and we are so proud to have her as our daughter. Happy Birthday sweet girl! We love you to the moon and back!
In honor of her birthday, I have updated her video at the top of the blog. If you have a few minutes, please feel free to watch it! It includes her one year video along with new pictures from her second year.
Since the announcements have been sent out, I thought I would post a few more pictures. I wasn't sure which picture I was going to use for Emmie's announcement, so I waited to post these until I picked! Here are a few more cute pics of the girls!
Can you believe that Emmie is already one month old? She went to see the doctor on her one month birthday for a check-up. She weighed 10 pounds (75th percentile) and was 23 1/4 inches long (95th percentile). She is so long!! She is already wearing 3-6 month clothes! Dr. Ray said that everything looked great and she would see her again at 2 months old. Poor baby did have to get one shot, but the real shots start at 2 months. The really sad thing is Lainie has her 2 year check-up the same day that Emmie has her 2 month check-up. I don't know if I am more worried about me or them! Lots of shots will be happening on that day....YUCK!!
Lainie continues to love being a big sister. She wants to hold Emmie and feed her a bottle whenever she gets the chance. She stood in front of the swing today while Emmie was in it and just danced and sang to Emmie for probably 15 minutes while I was hooked up to the lovely pump! Emmie loved watching her and stayed entertained the entire time which was a huge help for me. Sweet girls! I pray that they are the best of friends as they get older.
Emmie's nursery is officially done now with the exception of a chandelier. It took us longer than expected as the furniture that we originally ordered came in discolored and defective. We decided to order a whole new set of furniture and ended up liking it better than the original set that we had. It all worked out in the end!
I have to brag on Mary Katherine Segrest for the pictures hanging over the changing table. I asked her if she could paint some canvases for Emmie's room at the beginning of the summer. I had no idea what I wanted so I threw some ideas at her and you can see what she came up with. I LOVE them and could not be happier with her work. She is SO talented and such a sweet person to work with!!
Here are some pictures of the nursery. I also threw some pictures of the girls in for good measure. I tried to take a picture of them in their matching outfits, but Emmie was NOT happy about that decision....maybe next time! :)
