Cotton Top!

Is it just me, or could you just eat her up with a spoon?

Country Music 1/2 Marathon

Well, I can finally say that I did it....I ran a 1/2 marathon. The Nashville Country Music Half Marathon was this past weekend. Shannon, Paige and I have been training for it since January. I honestly thought the training would never end and the 1/2 marathon would never get here! It was 80 degrees on Saturday, but we started running around 7:45 that morning, so the heat was bearable. I really enjoyed running with great friends, but I haven't decided if I will do it again or not. Time will tell! My goal for next time would be to finish in under 2 hours and 30 minutes.....my time on Saturday was 2 hours, 44 minutes and 27 seconds.

Shannon and Paige crossing the finish line

And here I am...not quite as enthusiastic as they were. I didn't see our cheering squad at the end, so I was just focused on the finish line. If I had found them in the crowd, I would have given the camera a big, cheesy smile because I was almost DONE! :)

Shannon, Mere and Paige at the end...so glad to be done. Notice the roses that our sweet husbands had for us at the finish!

The whole group...Heath, Calie, Paige, Brian, Justin, Mere, Shannon and Nick

Final day in Birmingham

Before we headed home from Birmingham, we stopped by the Coppages' house to see everyone. Lainie was a little on the crabby side since it was her naptime, but Emmie was super sweet. I was able to get a couple of cute shots of her with Joel, Les, Corey, Cale and Laura Claire. It was great to see you guys! We missed seeing Clay as he is away at college, but hope to see him sometime soon.

Here is the only decent shot I got of Lainie while visiting. The girl was in no mood for photography!

Sweet Girls....my favorite shots!

****Lots of new posts below!!!****

Here are some of my favorite shots that I took of the girls on Saturday! I believe that Christie, Wendi and I have been blessed with some super sweet girls!

Raylin

Braelyn

Lainie

Emmie

Birmingham - Homewood Park

After the carousel, we decided to take the girls to Homewood Park to play. They had so much fun running around and playing. Raylin was so much fun to watch as she has absolutely NO fear at all. She would fly down the slide and get back up for more...too cute! Lainie and Emmie were content to swing, of course! Those two girls would swing all day if I let them. Braelyn was so sleepy and took a short nap before she got up and joined the rest of the group. We had so much fun and were so glad to be able to spend time with all the girls!

Birmingham - Lunch and Carousel

We all got up on Saturday to go meet Wendi and Braelyn at Chick-fil-A.

We enjoyed eating lunch there until it got super crowded! It was CRAZY!!! There were kids coming from every soccer field and baseball field in the area to eat lunch there, so we decided to head over to the mall to let the kids ride the carousel.
Lainie and Emmie enjoyed riding that, but I think Raylin was the most excited about the carousel idea! She loved it so much that she didn't want to get off! :)

Birmingham - Days 1 and 2

The girls and I have been trying to plan a trip to Birmingham to see friends for quite some time now. The last trip we had planned got put on hold when Emmie came down with RSV and ended up in the hospital. Thankfully, we were finally able to get down there last Thursday and spend the weekend. We had such a great time catching up with friends! Thursday night, I had dinner with Kelle', Amy and Emily at Brio....YUM!! Uncle Michael was very sweet to keep the girls for me while I was out. Word on the street is he changed his FIRST diaper and it happened to be a "big stink!" So sorry about that, Uncle Michael! I have to say I laughed out loud when he sent me a text message informing me of what happened. It was so great to catch up with my sweet friends that night...loved seeing you, girls!

Unfortunately, I never got any pictures of Amy, Emily, Kelle' or Uncle Michael. It was my first day there and I guess I wasn't thinking clearly. However, I made up for it the rest of the weekend when visiting everyone else! We met Carrie for coffee on Friday morning at Starbucks. Lainie and Emmie were actually very sweet throughout the visit, but you would never know it by looking at this picture! HA! We loved catching up with Carrie and always enjoy seeing her! :)

After meeting Carrie for coffee, we headed on over to Keri's
to see her and Christie. Christie and her sweet daughter, Raylin, drove from Mississippi that morning for the weekend as well. Kristen and Matt came by that afternoon to see the girls too! We all had such a great time catching up, and ended the night with some yummy Mexican food! Here are some pics of our day with them!
