Ellie's 2 month check-up

Ellie had her 2 month check-up this morning. She weighed in at a whopping 10 pounds 10.5 ounces and was 23 1/4 inches long. She continues to be such a little peanut! She is in the 25th percentile for weight and the 60th percentile for height. Just a comparison...Emmie was 11 pounds, 7 ounces (70th percentile) and 23 1/2 inches long (90th percentile) at two months old. Lainie was 12 pounds, 7 ounces (81st percentile) and 24 inches long (92nd percentile) at two months old.

Dr. Ray said she looked good. Miss Priss got one shot today as we are doing delayed immunizations with her. I just feel better about doing them slowly over a longer period of time. This was her first shot as we didn't do the Hep B in the hospital. She cried a little bit, but as soon as I picked her up, she was fine. She is such a sweet baby!

Christmas with Uncle Bennie

Uncle Bennie came up this weekend to see us and celebrate Christmas. He is always so sweet to us and we are so lucky to have him! The girls love their Uncle Ben. Emmie is constantly saying his name while he is here, but instead of saying Uncle Ben, she says something that sounds like Big Ben. It is too funny!

The girls were so excited to open the presents he brought. He spoiled them rotten (as always) with M&M candy canes, ring pops, and some new Play Mobil toys. He also got Ellie a new play gym that is so cute. He also spoiled Justin and I with some Notre Dame gear and a Starbucks gift card! :)

We spent the day out on the town grabbing lunch at McAlisters and ice cream at Sweet CeCe's. It was such a fun day and the girls had a blast. Thank you, Uncle Bennie, for all you do for us! We are so thankful for you!

Christmas 2010

This Christmas was so fun with the girls. Lainie really seemed to understand the meaning of Christmas more this year, and also really looked forward to Santa coming and leaving presents for everyone. We tried to teach the girls that Christmas was Jesus' birthday and that is what we are celebrating this time of year. Lainie also learned that Jesus had a mommy named Mary and a daddy named Joseph. We had a birthday party for Jesus with all our friends that helped both girls understand the concept. Unfortunately, I didn't take my camera with me. The party was at Graham's house and Laurie did such a great job with it. We had so much fun celebrating His birthday!

Christmas Day was so fun watching all the kids. Lainie asked Santa for a Heffalump House which was this little zoo by Play Mobil she found in the Toys R Us toy book. Both girls wanted the Mickey Mouse Choo Choo express, and Lainie asked for a tea set. Santa delivered the toys that the girls wanted despite the horrific visit full of tears by the Salmon girls! :) Santa decided that Ellie might like a bouncing zebra as she got older, so he left that for her as well!

Christmas Eve 2010

Aunt Kimie, Brooke, Scott and Uncle Michael all came over on Christmas Eve to spend the night with us. We stayed busy doing lots of fun activities in preparation for Christmas morning. We had a very relaxing, low-key Christmas this year and it was so nice.

Making Christmas cookies for Santa (and ourselves!)

Putting carrots outside for the reindeer

Leaving cookies and milk for Santa

and....playing a few video games until bedtime!

There's a Baby In My Tummy!

The girls did their annual gingerbread house this year and loved it! I think that might have been one of their favorite Christmas activities. Of course, things are always more fun when there is candy involved.

After they worked on their house, they went upstairs to the playroom and started playing with their bouncy balls. They came walking into the kitchen saying, "Mommy, I have a baby in my tummy!" They had their balls stuck inside their shirts....too funny! These girls keep us laughing.

Oh Santa, How We Love Thee!

And one more picture with the cousins....I think Emmie was literally hyperventilating at this point!

Santa Claus Visit 2010

Santa visit 2010....the one where Lainie showed off a little more to Santa and the camera than we had hoped, Emmie caused hearing loss in Santa's left ear with her ear piercing scream, and Ellie actually demonstrated what she wanted for Christmas when she tried to latch on to Santa's big, red suit.

Christmas Program

Lainie and Emmie had their preschool Christmas program on Wednesday. They both did so well and were so cute up on stage! I always love to watch them sing their little hearts out. Emmie's class sang "Mary Had A Baby Boy" and Lainie's class sang "Twelve Little Angels." They ended the program with all the classes singing "Joy To The World" and "We Wish You A Merry Christmas." It was so cute!
