My Middle Mini Me

Emmie wore one of my dresses the other day and I thought I would take some pictures of her in it. She looked so cute! She just melts my heart with those green eyes, blonde hair and golden skin.

She is getting so big. I can't believe her 3rd birthday is right around the corner. She is still our snuggle bug with some serious sass on the side. Her new thing to say (or yell) is "I not kidding!" She says (or yells) this whenever she doesn't want to do something or is frustrated. Whenever she is in her room during naptime and is obviously NOT napping, I will walk upstairs and walk in her room to tell her to lay down. If she hears me coming, she will throw her blanket over her head and sit there straight up in bed. I will talk to her, tell her to lay down and she just sits there giggling. I ask her if she hears me and she gives me no response, because she believes that she is totally "incognito" under that blanket. It is so hard not to laugh at her sometimes.

She is Lainie's little shadow and does whatever her big sister does. She copies every word Lainie says, wants every toy Lainie wants, and likes anything Lainie likes. She and Lainie really love to play with their animals or figures and really are awesome at imaginary play. They can create all sorts of stories and scenarios with their toys. Emmie's vocabulary has increased so much lately. She really has changed alot in the past few months....my sweet big girl! Now, if we could just get her potty trained! :)

The Grass Stains

We decided to sign Lainie up to play t-ball this year. I am not going to lie....the league she is playing for is a little "backwoods" if you know what I mean. It is set up through the Lions Club, and it might be the most unorganized league I have ever been involved in. The uniforms, lack of helmets, and the grass field just give you a peek into the way the league works. It really is comical. However, she has had fun, it cost $20.00 for her to play, and it allowed us to see if she really would play or just sit on the sidelines. Hitting is absolutely her favorite part, along with running the bases. The snack at the end of the game isn't too bad either according to Lainie Bug.

I need for you to notice her jumping. Whenever she is supposed to be standing on a base, she is jumping. She literally jumps all the time. ALL. THE. TIME!!! Needless to say, she likes t-ball, but gymnastics is her absolute favorite sport right now.

Let's Back Up to Memorial Day!

Since July is right around the corner, I decided I really needed to blog about Memorial Day and try to get caught up on the blog. I am so thankful that Kimie and Dane have been taking pictures recently, because they are the only reason I have any that I can use to update with. We have been so busy lately, and I always seem to forget my camera as I run out the door.

We decided to do some fun things for Memorial Day weekend while Justin was home for a few days. We went to Cheekwood Gardens and saw the train exhibit that they had set up temporarily. You will have to take my word for the fact that the girls loved it....no pictures to prove that! We also went to Chattanooga for the day with Kimie, Dane, Brooke and Scott. We ate, went to the aquarium, played in the park and at the splash pad and grabbed some ice cream. We had such a great time!

Happy 8 Months to Ellie!

Our sweet baby Ellie turned 8 months old on Tuesday. It has been so crazy around here lately, so I haven't had a chance to write her post until today. However, I did take these pictures of her on her actual 8 month birthday. Sweet Ellie, here is what you are up to these days:

* You have started smiling while sticking your tongue out. It is very hard to get a smile out of you without your tongue sticking straight out. Some of these pictures demonstrate it very well! :)

* You love your sisters, but Lainie can make you laugh out loud. You think she is absolutely hysterical. You have a special bond with her these days.

* You still love your Johnny Jumper, but are starting to really prefer to play on the floor with toys versus that or the Exersaucer. You love to sit and play with Lainie and Emmie. They are both very sweet to you and always bring you new toys to play with.

* You rolled over to sleep on your stomach on Sunday night for the first time. You have been able to roll over for a while, but never rolled to sleep that way. You didn't like it at first, but have since decided that it is great!

* You still only have two teeth, but are working on the top two teeth right now.

* You wear 9 month or 6-12 month clothes and a size 2 diaper.

* You weighed 16 pounds last week at the doctor's office, but you had your clothes and diaper on. You are probably more in the 15 pound range.

* You nurse at least 4 times a day and eat a fruit and veggie for lunch and dinner. You like both fruit and veggies now, and will eat peas easily instead of gagging them down like you did a month ago.

* You still love your bathtub and are wild, wild, wild in there. You have been to the pool a few times and tolerate it, but it isn't your favorite place.

* You are getting quite the tan and you hardly see the sun. It really isn't fair! You and your sisters are so lucky to have your Daddy's complexion.

* You grab at everything! If anything is within your reach, you will get it. You love to grab my glasses off my face and cry if I take them away from you.

* You go with the flow so well. I try to keep you on some sort of schedule, but if we are off of it, you are really not affected. You are such a sweet, easy going baby.

* You still love your pacifier. It is with you always! I love to watch you grab it and stick it in your mouth....never gets old! I just think you are the cutest thing!

* You prefer to be held by me all the time. If I attached you to my hip, you would be thrilled! You aren't that way with other people as much as you are with me. Maybe I have spoiled you a little too much! :)

* You take two naps a day and sleep from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Your naps are getting longer during the day, and you take your longest nap in the morning.

Happy 8 Months, baby girl! We love you SO much!

My 3 Girls

Last Day of School

It is hard to believe that this school year is already over. I feel like we were just meeting the girls' teachers at their new school. Lainie and Emmie both had such a great year this year and really learned so much.
Lainie really blossomed more this year than ever before and is just so smart. Her school uses the program "Handwriting without Tears." She writes so well and recognizes words already. In fact, we were watching TV this morning and she saw "Luke" on the screen and recognized it. It is hard to believe that she technically could start Kindergarten in the fall. Justin and I have decided to send her to Pre-K 5 instead since her birthday is so late.
Emmie still cried when I would drop her off for school every morning, but did great this year. She loved her teachers and would always say she had fun when I went to pick her up. She learned so many songs and can sing them all at home. She also learned her colors, shapes and numbers. She is such a big girl! Now, if we could just get her potty trained! :D
Here they are on their last day of school! Lainie is 4 years and 9 months and Emmie is 2 years and 10 months).

And just for comparison, here are the girls on their first day of school this year!
