All About Emmie - 3 Years Old

The same day that Ellie had her 9 month check-up, Emmie had her 3 year check-up. I told her ahead of time that she was going to see Dr. Ray. When we walked into the office, she asked the receptionist if she was Dr. Ray, and then proceeded to ask every nurse or any office staff person that she saw if they were Dr. Ray. It was so cute! Everything looked great with Miss Em. Her stats are:

Weight: 35 pounds (80th percentile)
Height: 38 1/2 inches (80th percentile)

As her pediatrician said, she is perfectly proportionate. It looks like Emmie might be our tallest child! At this point, she is also our most independent and strong-willed child. However, she is definitely our most loving and cuddly child as well. She is passionate about everything, whether it is stating her opinion or giving someone a hug! When she does something, she goes all out! :)

Emmie is so funny! She definitely keeps us on our toes and keeps us laughing. Some of the things she is doing these days:

* If she doesn't agree with something, she will scream, "I NOT KIDDING!!" Her passion definitely comes out in her responses about things, which can land her in time out quite often!

* She is SO loud. She sings loudly, talks loudly, walks loudly, laughs loudly, cries loudly. She is just plain loud! I feel like I am constantly telling her she needs to be quiet.

* She still will eat just about anything that you put in front of her. The main things she does not like involve bread. No sandwiches, rolls, etc. She will eat a biscuit, but only if it is from a restaurant.

* She loves Strawberry Shortcake right now, but she also loves the Disney princesses, Olivia, her baby dolls, and little figurines.

* When she talks to you, she will get right in your face and look you in the eye with this serious expression. She doesn't do it all the time, but she definitely does it alot. It is so funny!

* She loves the color blue...definitely her favorite color right now.

* She loves Lainie and wants to do whatever Lainie does. This is so hard sometimes, especially when Lainie is invited to do something that Emmie is not included in. Emmie just does not understand why she can't do every single thing that her big sister does.

* She is completely potty trained. Once she was ready, she literally potty trained in one day. She has been trained for about one week now, and she has done amazing! We are so proud of her!

* She knows all of her colors and shapes, knows her ABCs, can count to 10, loves to color and paint, loves being outside, plays imaginative play (especially with Lainie), loves to jump and run, loves to swim, and loves music.

* She can sing the blessing at dinner and say her prayers at night, which will melt my heart any day!

* She is our child who LOVES to go, go, go! If anyone is leaving the house, she is going with them. She never wants to be left out or left behind. It doesn't matter where a person is going, she is going to want to go too!

* She loves to talk on the phone! She will talk to just about anyone, which is so different from Lainie, who will pretty much only talk to Daddy.

Emmie, we love you so much! You make life so fun and so interesting! You definitely keep us on our toes, but you keep us laughing too. You are so fun to watch as you discover new things. You are such a sweet big sister to Ellie and a precious little sister to Lainie. You are our Emmie Lou, our sweet middle daughter, our snuggle bug!

What a little pistol! I love the comment about I not kidding! Too funny!
I cannot believe she is potty trained that quickly. It wasn't even three weeks ago when we saw you guys and she wasn't interested at all. So happy for her (and you too)!
